To find out if a child is stressed ... watch their breathing without letting them know.
Is their tummy going up and down when they are laying on their back. This is a sign of deep breathing and is very good.
When they are standing ... are they pulling their shoulders up when they inhale. That is a sign of shallow breathing and is bad. Be really attentive when observing their breathing.
When they pull their shoulders up they are constantly stressing themselves.
One has to take all the other signs of stress very seriously like for example bed wetting, headaches, anger outbursts, poor appetite, or night mares.
